Visual literacy is paramount to understanding the 21st century. The ability to read, decode, and discern information communicated through visual images is a major focus in art education today. Keeping up with the changes in linguisitics, pop culture, politics, economics, history, and psychology are key components in the analysis and evaluation of visual information.

As students are the heart of the educational experience, my role is to facilitate critical thinking and to model a love for learning through artistic research and art-making. My classrooms are inclusive, literacy-rich environments that support creative risk-taking do that every student can thrive.
